NMIMS University - BBA Program - NPAT - Selection Process, Eligibilty Criteria, Syllabus and Paper Pattern​

NMIMS NPAT is an entrance test conducted by SVKM’s NMIMS (Deemed-to-be University) for admission to various undergraduate programs, including the BBA program offered at NMIMS campuses. The exam is designed for students who want to pursue management education after Class 12. NPAT evaluates a student’s skills in areas such as quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability and general aptitude. Admission to the NMIMS BBA program is based on the NPAT selection process, eligibility criteria and the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam.

NPAT Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed Class 12 / HSC or equivalent examination from a recognized board.

Students appearing for Class 12 can also apply, provided they meet the final eligibility requirements at the time of admission.

For the BBA program, candidates generally need a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Class 12 or equivalent examination.

Candidates from CBSE / ICSE / other boards should calculate aggregate marks based on all subjects appeared for, not only best of four or best of five.

For the general BBA program, Mathematics is not compulsory as per the latest NPAT information. However, for some related programs such as BBA FinTech, B.Sc. Finance, BBA Finance or Integrated BBA-MBA, Mathematics / Statistics may be required depending on the specific program.

Candidates can apply to a maximum of five programs through the NPAT application process.

Final admission is subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria, NPAT performance, merit list, seat availability, campus preference and document verification.

NMIMS NPAT is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The test is objective in nature and consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

The exam has 120 questions for a total of 120 marks. The total duration of the exam is 100 minutes.

Marking Scheme:

Candidates get 1 mark for every correct answer. There is no negative marking for wrong answers or unanswered questions.

After appearing for the NMIMS NPAT exam, the candidate’s performance is considered for admission based on the best score, if multiple attempts are taken.

NMIMS generally allows one main attempt and two retakes, and the highest score out of the attempts is considered for merit list preparation.

After the exam window is completed, NMIMS releases the merit list / admission result on the candidate’s admission dashboard.

Candidates have to log in to the NMIMS admission portal and check their selection status, allotted program and allotted campus.

For the regular BBA program through NPAT, admission is generally based on the merit list. There is usually no separate GD/PI round for the standard BBA admission process.

If a candidate is selected, they receive a provisional admission offer. The candidate must pay the required admission fee within the given deadline to confirm the seat.

If the candidate does not pay the fee within the deadline, the seat may be offered to the next eligible candidate in the merit list.

Candidates who are not allotted their first preference may be considered for further rounds or upgradation, depending on merit number, seat availability and NMIMS admission rules.

Final admission is confirmed only after fee payment, eligibility verification and document verification. If a candidate fails to meet the Class 12 eligibility criteria or does not submit the required documents, the admission may be cancelled.

Eligibility Criteria for the NMIMS BBA Programs

1. BBA- minimum 60% aggregate marks. Mathematics/ Statistics or equivalent examination is mandatory in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Bengaluru campus
2. BBA Branding & Advertising- Minimum of 60% aggregate marks from any stream.
3. Bachelor in Business Management & Marketing- Minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
4. BBA (International Business)-in Collaboration with Kingston University -International Studies – Minimum of 60%aggregate marks from any stream. The candidate must complete 2 years at the Mumbai campus and 1 year at Kingston University. From A levels exam-112 UCAS Tariff points. A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 TOEFL – 80
